Take Up Space

It has been a whirlwind in the last couple weeks, but in the best way. I have had to show up in familiar and unfamiliar spaces, and as nerve wrecking as that sounds, it has been challenging but affirming. I have been nervous but also fulfilled.

You want to know something about trees. They don't ask how to be planted, where to be planted, or even how to grow. Once the seed is planted, and the proper environment, sunlight, and water is provided, the growing process begins. The roots begin to grow down, and the trunk begins to shoot up. It doesn't ask for permission to be in the forest, and it doesn't wonder if it will have what it needs. The tree stays firmly planted, unbothered by the other trees because there is enough space, resources, and sky for all of them.

Well, I'm here to tell you, be like the tree. It's time to stop searching for where you think you fit. Stop looking for the space, it's time to take up space. You already have exactly what you need, and if you stand still enough and plant yourself, you will grow and begin seeing fruit.

It takes time, but the process makes you strong enough to withstand storms, opposition, and life itself. You don't want fruit in one season, you want fruit that remains so stay planted. Stay consistent. Stop questioning if you belong, and take up space.

It's time to stop worrying about what everyone else is doing, and start focusing on what you can do. It's time to move forward because that is the only thing that will silence the fear and the thoughts that bring doubt. It's time for you to take up space.

Take up space because that is what you were created for. Take up space because you don't want to leave this earth full of the things you could have done. Take up space because someone needs to be impacted by seeing you do it like you do it.

Take up space.
